We’re only five and a half back

I anticipated that this Tigers team would give up a lot of runs. But why are we turning every pitcher into Sandy Koufax? What’s going on?

Marvin always make me feels better. A little better.

—At least we still have the Red Wings. Or you have the Red Wings. I’m not reclaiming them until the Finals. Actually, I’ll watch tonight now that my cable company carries Versus.

—The Stones’ second string looked good last night. I really like that Flip let them beat the Raptors down the stretch. Amir is a force. Kind of.

—I’m sure a lot of people are expressing this sentiment today, but the Grand Slam in golf looks increasingly impossible. Beating the field four times is just too hard. It would require such a confluence of excellence, luck, and no one else being more excellent or lucky. Four times in a year. Tiger’s conditioning will probably allow him to have a very long career, but–even so–the margin for error in a major is so slim. I don’t know, I don’t see it happening.
