Zach sent something over about Miguel Cabrera’s huge contract. If anything, I feel like we’re underpaying the guy: this is like getting Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett at age 24.
Jayson Stark nods in agreement.

i’m open to better comparisons than kobe/kg… i was just trying to suggest how much the guy has accomplished at such a young age.

i know you mentioned this cover before but Jason Whitlock has an interesting column on the issue.

Despite the fact that Jemele Hill is from Detroit and attended MSU, and I believe worked for The State News, I think Jason Whitlock wrote a better column on this Vogue Cover.
Race is a really really confusing issue.

its a good deal if he stays healthy (always a risk), is continually productive, and isnt on steroids. thats my view at least. huge contract always make me skeptical, seems like a lot of people slide after a huge deal, but maybe that happens in bball where people like erik dampier are grossly overpaid.
what has dontrell done in spring training? i pay no attention to preseasn. i think hes gonna be good still. it sounds like he was pretty bad.
any news on bonderman? i need some bondo talk.

today willis gave up 7 runs in 3 inning. he’s 1-3 with an 8 plus ERA.

bondo’s been working on his change-up, which would be a nice addition.
the wall street journal had a cool article i should have posted that tried to figure out why bondo always blows ass in the first inning before cooling out later on:

uhhh, probably could have been a little more diplomatic than saying he “blows ass.”
change that to: “…tried to figure out why bondo has tended to struggle…”
